Saint-Denis International School, established in 1858, is a private Catholic school under contract to the French State, with over 800 students enrolled. It is composed of a preschool and primary school, Saint Martin, as well as a middle and high school, Saint-Denis. Situated in the Loire Valley, a UNESCO worldwide heritage site, Loches is full of history and famous castles visited by people from around the world. The school specializes in linguistic and cultural exchanges with over 400 boarders as well as day students. Pupils benefit from a calm and safe living environment in the medieval town of Loches, and International students benefit from living with a French family that is closely connected to the school and community.

The Premium Educational Content classification is for programs specifically designed with a high educational content for Australian schools in conjunction with TETC’s exclusive Education Partners in New Caledonia and Europe

This program is also available in English for non-language Ancient and Modern History study tours.

  • Smaller class sizes for individualized attention – students are grouped into 2 diverse levels of ability depending on their language level. For cross-curricular groups, other subjects are taught in English in separate classrooms.
  • Experience homestay (optional and students are always paired)
  • Homestay hosts are mostly families of present and former students and are carefully selected so that the homestay experience is a positive one.
  • Local operators and accommodation providers are carefully selected by our European representative office. We only use minimum 2 stars hotels for the comfort and safety of your group, unless specifically requested otherwise.
  • All dinners are always included – food quantity and quality are equivalent to adult groups’ standards.

  • You are busy teaching. Send us your risk assessment document and we will complete the tour section for your perusal. We are familiar with our overseas venues, hotels and locations and able to cover more details. This will assist you with all important H&S angles.
  • A school tour is no teacher’s holiday, you are on duty 24×7: Teachers are accommodated in single hotel rooms, unless specifically requested otherwise.
  • All dinners are always included – looking for a restaurant able to accommodate a group is NOT something you want to experience with a group of hungry teenagers at the end of a long and exciting day.

 

Arrive in Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle airport near Paris.

You will be greeted by our Representative and transferred by coach to your hotel. Check into your hotel.
Today, take a one-hour circular river cruise, then make your way at leisure through the heart of historic Paris and discover the beautiful banks of the Seine River. Your one-day pass (Zone 1-3) gives you freedom to move around using Paris’ famous Metro.

Use your Metro pass today and take the day to visit the
Louvre Museum (admission included) including the famous “La Joconde” painting. Located on the Right Bank of the Seine River, this is one of the world’s largest museums and a historic monument in Paris.

 

 

 

Visit Notre-Dame Cathedral, (admission included) on the eastern half of Île de la Cité. Notre Dame is an important example of French Gothic architecture, sculpture and stained glass. This famous cathedral is also an active Catholic church, a place of pilgrimage, and the focal point for Catholicism in France.


A visit to Paris should automatically include a stroll along the
Champs-Elysées, a 1.9km long avenue which runs from the Place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe.

This morning you
will leave Paris by coach for the city of Amiens with a stop in Villers-Bretonneux for a wreath laying ceremony at the Australian Memorial bearing the names of 11,000 Australian soldiers MIA during WWI.
The nearby
Franco-Australian Museum (admission included) tells the story of Australia’s involvement in the area, the ongoing relationship between Australia and the village since, through a large collection of objects, letters and memorabilia.

Amiens. Check into your hotel.
Afternoon self-guided visit tour of Notre-Dame d’Amiens Cathedral, a UNESCO heritage site renowned for its architectural harmony. Built from 1220 to 1288, its size makes it one of the biggest 
Gothic buildings ever built: 145 m long, 42 m high. Its indoor and outdoor statuary is just as remarkable as its architecture.

This morning,
coach transfer to Caen where you will spend the next two nights.
On the way, stop in
Bayeux to see the famous tapestry (admission included). The Bayeux Tapestry is an embroidered cloth nearly 70 metres long and 50 centimetres tall, which depicts the events leading up to the Norman conquest of England concerning William, Duke of Normandy, and Harold, Earl of Wessex, later King of England, and culminating in the Battle of Hastings.

Continue to Caen where you will check in your hotel.
Start your visit of this city, founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, with the Romanesque Abbey of Saint-Étienne, dating from the same period.
An inscribed marble slab in the choir marks the site of William the Conqueror’s tomb.

Continue your visit with the city multimedia museum Le Mémorial (admission included), devoted to WWII and the Battle of Normandy.
The Caen Memorial of Peace Museum provides a thought-provoking meditation on the evils of war, the importance of learning from past failures and successes, and the necessity of finding lasting peace.

D-day Landing Beaches and the museum in Arromanches.(admission included).


The Normandy Allied landing commenced on Tuesday, 6 June 1944 (
D-Day) under the now famous code name Operation Overlord.
S
till the largest seaborne invasion in history to this day, D-DAY was the start of the liberation of German-occupied northwestern Europe from Nazi control, and contributed to the Allied victory on the Western Front. Transfer back to Caen.

Travel by coach to
Mont St Michel (admission to Abbey included).


Mont-Saint-Michel is Europe’s most unforgettable sight.
Set in the mesmerising bay where Normandy and Brittany merge, the island draws visitors from far and wide. The site is an island topped by a gravity-defying medieval monastery.
Mont-Saint-Michel counts among France’s most stunning sights and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Continue to St Malo, the walled port city, best known as being a breeding ground for corsairs and pirates.

Check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day walking through the cobbled streets of St Malo’s old town.

From St Malo, continue your journey by coach across Brittany and travel east to the town of St Nazaire where you will dive into the history of the French navy and
visit a submarine (audio-guided tour included in English or French) as well as the Eco-musée  (admission included)

In the afternoon, visit one of the best-known castle of the Loire Valley:
Chateau de Chenonceau. Once a royal residence, Chateau de Chenonceau is truly exceptional because it was built over the Cher River.

Morning lessons at Lycée Saint-Denis. Canteen lunch. Afternoon excursion to le
Clos Lucé in the city of Amboise. This house is famous for being the official residence of Leonardo da Vinci between 1516 and 1519.

Last French lessons at Lycée Saint-Denis in the morning. Canteen lunch then
