L’École Internationale James Cook is the top P-12 school in Noumea. It is in the residential suburb of Auteuil, on the outskirts of Noumea.

Your Itinerary

Depart at 8.40am on Aircalin. Arrive in Nouméa Tontouta Airport around 11:30am. Upon arrival, you will be transferred by coach to your hotel at Anse Vata, in Nouméa. You will be accommodated in “confort” rooms (a step up from the “standard” rooms).

Settle in and then you can grab something to eat at one of the many places near your hotel.

In the afternoon, board the Tchou Tchou train sightseeing tour along the bays, into the city and Place des Cocotiers. There will be a short stop on top of the FOL hill then off to another lookout point “La Vierge du Pacifique” before making your way back past old colonial houses. The sightseeing offers taped commentary and is not a hop-on/hop off service.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel

Early breakfast at the hotel. Amédée lighthouse island. A full day trip to one of Nouméa’s best islands, including Lesson on the Move. You will be transferred by coach after an early breakfast to Port Moselle, to board the Mary D at 8:00AM for a day of snorkeling, a glass bottom boat tour, coral viewing, lighthouse climbing (depending on maintenance) or just lazing around on the white sandy beach, or swimming in crystal clear waters. An exotic island buffet will be awaiting you at lunch together with an exciting display of island dances.

Daytrip inclusions:

Early breakfast at hotel then check out. Coach transfer to L’École International James Cook where you spend the day attending lessons with local students. Lunch pack is provided. At the end of the school day, you are met by your homestay family.

Breakfast with your homestay family. You are dropped off at L’École International James Cook by your homestay family.  Spend the day attending lessons with local students. Lunch will be provided by host family. At the end of the school day, you are picked-up by your homestay family.

After lunch, coach transfer back to your hotel in Nouméa. You may want to walk to the Aquarium to discover the local fish and coral life of the reef (optional) or relax in the hotel pool. All students assemble at 5.00pm in the hotel meeting rooms with a FLE-qualified teacher to discuss and debrief (in French) their homestay experience for 45mins. Free time afterwards until dinner at 7.00pm.

Overnight at your hotel.

Breakfast at your hotel. Coach transfer in the morning to the local market (no guide) where you discover local produces and artifacts. Continue your visit at your own pace to Nouméa city centre and experience shopping, sandwicheries, and cultural interactions until 1 pm. Transfer to Centre Commercial Kenu-In for your Lesson on the Move. Transfer back to the hotel around 4 pm.

Breakfast at the hotel. Coach transfer in the morning to Parc Forestier where you will have a picnic lunch and the chance to discover the local flora and fauna.

In the afternoon, coach transfer for a 2.5-hour guided tour including a visit to the Tjibaou Cultural Centre. This unique, architecturally designed cultural centre by Renzo Piano exquisitely blends modern design with Kanak tradition. It is a must to visit to gain a better understanding of the Kanak/Melanesian culture (includes return transfers. Transfer back to your hotel.

Breakfast at your hotel. Coach transfer to Tontouta International airport and your flight home. Au revoir! Departure at 12.30pm and arrive in Sydney at 3.50pm
